At the 2010 New York International Auto Show, Mitsubishi Motors unveiled a brand new crossover utility vehicle (CUV): the Outlander. It was designed to be lightweight and fuel efficient, while at the same time delivering an array of features and stylish performance. Using lightweight, dent-resistant plastic front fender body panels, regenerative braking, and enhanced aerodynamics, the Outlander is estimated to get up to 31mpg on the highway. Along with these advanced techniques, this vehicle also comes with a range of standard technologies such as Active Stability Control (ASC), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Electric Power Steering (EPS), and this model's signature cutting-edge, high-contrast LCD instrument display.
Additionally, the Outlander is decked out in premium features. Drivers can enjoy an optional LED-accented Panoramic Glass Roof, 710W nine-speaker Rockford Fosgate audio system, and the FUSE Hands-free Link system. You can also choose between two available trims: the ES with a standard 5-speed manual transmission and the SE with a sportronic 6-speed CVT and magnesium-alloy paddle shifters. For the engine, you have a standard fuel efficient, 148hp MIVEC-equipped 2.0-liter four-cylinder, and an AWC is available on SE models.
