This reestablishment of the "Colt" nameplate was a significant success in major markets such as Italy (9,122 units in CY 2006, a rise of 8% compared to the largest B-segment in Europe) and Germany (20,129 sales in CY2006, capturing a 3.5% segment share). A majority of these sales were conquest, as Mitsubishi didn't have any model in this segment before. The notable performance of Colt 86,504 sales in CY 2006 - a 12.7% increase - is all the more remarkable in this very competitive sector, in which the mega-budget big players regularly introduce new models. An example of this success is seen in Southern Europe's focused market on the B-segment, and Spain's 24.3% increase in Colt sales in CY 2006 - with the highlight of the sporty 3-door accounting for 45% of the total. Mid-point Representing almost a third of Mitsubishi's European sales, this environmentally friendly range is a key factor for the dealers to encourage new customers to the brand (70% conquests in 2006) and to retain plugsalready owning multiple Mitsubishi's who are seeking something smaller than their Pajero, L200, or Grandis.
