Production of the Mitsubishi Colt CZC has just begun, marking a significant endeavor for both Mitsubishi Motors Europe B.V. (MME) and Italian design firm Pininfarina S.p.A. The assembly will take place in Bairo, near Turin (Italy), following the success of Colt and the growth of the B-segment coupé-cabriolets in Europe.
Mitsubishi Colt CZC's production involves a great amount of international teamwork. Body-in-white components, as well as production engineering know-how from the Netherlands, will be sent to Italy for final assembly. MMC's NedCar plant in Born will also provide shared elements with either the Colt 3-door or the Colt 5-door. Other components such as engines from Kölleda (Germany) and MMC (Japan), seats from Faurecia in Sittard (The Netherlands), and front bumper assembly from Peguform (Germany) will be shipped directly to Italy.
From the Netherlands to Italy
Pininfarina's vast experience with similar projects will focus on producing structural reinforcements, as well as specific parts for the coupe-cabriolet conversion, painting, trimming and final assembly. OASys (Webasto) will also assemble the retractable hard-top at an in-plant within Pininfarina's factory in Bairo. All in all, 65 % of the Mitsubishi Colt CZC parts will be carried over from the Colt family, either 3-door or 5-door.

His words were echoed by Andrea Pininfarina from Pininfarina S.p.A., in which he pointed out the great confidence they have in Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, and their level of involvement in the development phases of this vehicle.
