Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT

The Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder is a "attainable exotic" that brings together exciting design and performance plus a high-tech convertible top and great value. For 2009, the Spyder's front and rear bumper fascias have been restyled, and the GT model upgrades further with a dual exhaust system that gives it a more powerful sound and also increases the horsepower from 260 to 265. Plus, HID head lamps, standard Active Stability Control (ASC) and new interior cloth fabrics provide a richer interior feel and improved visibility. The GS model now also includes an optional deluxe leather package with aluminum pedals. The Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder comes with either a 4-cylinder GS or V-6 GT engine. The GS model has a 162-hp 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that is available with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic. For the GT, the 265-hp 3.8-liter V-6 yields 262 lb.-ft. of torque and comes with either a 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic, which includes Sportronic™ shifters to permit manual gearshifts. Both engines use Mitsubishi Innovative Valve Timing Electronic Control (MIVEC). The rigid platform plus 4-wheel independent suspension of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder make for sporty road manners and a comfortable ride. The GT model has standard 18-inch alloy wheels. Both models are equipped with four-wheel disc brakes, ABS and electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), with the GT model having larger, ventilated rear discs. The magnetic-drive cloth top of the convertible will automatically fold down into its flush-fitting tonneau cover in about 19 seconds, and it also has a multi-layer construction to give it a full headliner and snug interior when the top is up. It also has a glass rear window with a defroster. Under the hood is a wave-form instrument panel with easy-to-reach controls and distinctive motorcycle-inspired gauges, lit by warm ice blue LED lights. Inside the interior, there are three color choices including Techno-Sport (dark charcoal), Hi-Q Sport (medium gray) and Avante Garde (terra cotta). The front bucket seats are high-back with integrated open head restraints to give it a sporty look with better rear visibility. The steering wheel includes audio system remote controls. For your sound system, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder comes with a 650-watt (max.) Rockford-Fosgate premium audio system with AM/FM/CD/MP3 capability and a 6-disc in-dash CD changer and SIRIUS® Satellite Radio with a 6 month pre-paid service subscription. The sound system is designed specifically for the Spyder and delivers automatic sound equalization for both open and closed top driving. The 8-inch subwoofer that is integrated into the rear seat gives you deep bass sound as well as a unique design element. Key Specifications
