Mitsubishi Evolander Concept
The Mitsubishi Research and Design of America (MRDA) team in Cypress, California created the Evolander concept, a unique vehicle based on the 2007 Outlander. To make this concept a reality, the team incorporated design and performance elements inspired by the Lancer Evolution's world-class engineering. There's potential for the Evolander to become an Outlander Ralliart production model in the future.
The power of the 3.0-liter V6 engine has been boosted from 220 hp to 300 hp with the help of an ATI/Roadrace Engineering Procharger system. With a 6-speed automatic transmission shifted by magnesium-alloy paddle shifters, the Evolander is able to deliver a driving experience reminiscent of a rally car. Mitsubishi's AWD system and a Roadrace Engineering/Muellerized coilover suspension enhance roadholding for exceptional control on winding roads. The vehicle rides on lightweight 20-inch OZ wheels and Yokohama Advan ST performance tires, while Brembo 6-piston monobloc-style brakes provide the reassurance of swift, safe stopping.
