Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) announced that the Lancer Evolution Wagon will be available at affiliates dealerships across Japan from today (September 7, 2005). Combining the world-renowned dynamic performance of the Lancer Evolution IX high-performance 4WD sedan, which is powered by the company's state-of-the-art All Wheel Control technology, with the large baggage capacity of the Lancer Wagon, the Lancer Evolution Wagon is a truly unique vehicle. Tax inclusive price begins from 3,412,500 yen.
This is the debut of a station wagon model in the Lancer Evolution lineup. Its bodywork is taken from the standard Lancer Wagon, however, additional strengthening has been applied to the rear section of the car to provide an incredibly strong yet lightweight station wagon. Under the bonnet lies an intercooler-turbocharged 2.0L engine, working together with the electronically controlled AWD system to provide unparalleled vehicle dynamics.
The Lancer Evolution Wagon comes in two trims: the performance-oriented GT (with a 6-speed manual gearbox) and the GT-A (with a 5-speed automatic). Both models have a limited production run of 2,500 and will cease to be produced as of December this year.
