Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback Ralliart
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation will be revealing for the first time at the Le Mondial de l'Automobile 2008 (Paris Motor Show 2008), which will be held from October 2 (October 4 for general public) to October 19 in Halls 1-8 of the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, the Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback. This autumn, the European countries will be introducing the car in stages.
The eye-catching Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback is a 5-door hatchback, which is much sought-after in Europe, that has Mitsubishi Motors' trademark inverted-slant nose and trapezoidal grille. It comes equipped with 1.5-liter (109PS) or 1.8-liter (143PS) gasoline engines or a 2.0-liter (140PS) turbo diesel engine. Moreover, it offers a "auto-folding function", which enables the users to alter the locking compartment height and tip forward the rear seatbacks through the utilization of a lever located inside the storage compartment. Next spring, the model line-up will be extended with the addition of a new diesel engine.
The Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart and Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback Ralliart models come fitted with a turbocharged 2-liter 4-cylinder DOHC MIVEC motor [max output of 177 kW (240PS), peak torque of 343 Nm (35 kgm)]. Herby, the vigorous responsiveness and grip over the Lancer basic model is improved by combining this motor to Mitsubishi's high-efficiency Twin Clutch SST and an Active Center Differential, which precisely modifies the amount of torque sent to each wheel according to the road conditions. The models also have 2-pot caliper front brakes and a larger brake master cylinder to enhance the initial performance capability even more.
