Mitsubishi Outlander Turbo [EU]

The Mitsubishi Outlander is a compact crossover SUV that was manufactured by Mitsubishi Motors. It was based off the Mitsubishi Lancer platform, and powered by the Mitsubishi Galant engine. The Outlander had numerous competitors in the North American market, such as the Subaru Forester, Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-7, Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorento, Pontiac Vibe, Saturn VUE, Hyundai Tucson/Kia Sportage, and Ford Escape/Mazda CX-5. It replaced the Mitsubishi Challenger/Montero Sport SUV. First designed by Olivier Boulay, the Outlander was first released in North America in 2003. It was essentially a Japanese-market Airtrek model, adorned with a modified and more aggressive-looking front end. Notable versions of the Outlander rode on the roads in Singapore and Brazil under the name Airtrek, while the rest of the world recognized its nameplate as the Outlander. North American trims come in three levels: LS, XLS, and Limited (released in 2005). All trim levels are available with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive capabilities, except the Limited edition which comes standard with all-wheel drive. Under the hood of the North American model is a 2.4 L engine I4 engine, providing 160 hp and 162 ft·lbf of torque. Other markets have the option of a turbocharged engine. Adding to the Outlander's exceptional features, it includes a Sportronic semi-automatic transmission system (sometimes called a Tiptronic shift system). The 2005 model year introduced a 5-speed manual transmission for the LS trim.
