Nismo (abbreviation from Nissan Motorsport International Limited) is a division of the Japanese carmaker Nissan, which deals with tuning Nissan vehicles as well as taking part in motorsport races. more
Nismo was created in 1984, when Nissan decided to combine its two motorsport divisions, Publication Division 3 (responsible for the needs of privateer teams) and Special Car Testing Division (dealing with factory operations). The company aimed to focus on sportscar racing as well as provide support for the Japanese F3 series. In 1988, the first Nismo car, the Saurus, was presented.
Nismo also produces parts for Nissan cars, including Datsun and Infiniti brands, such as spoilers and diffusers, alloy wheels, engine and suspension parts. The most well-known cars, developed by Nismo, are Nissan Skyline GT-R, R33 Skyline 400R and S14 Silvia 270R models.
