Nissan Altima SER

The Nissan Altima is a mid-size car produced by the Japanese automaker, Nissan, and has a distinguished history dating back to the Bluebird released in 1957. It is more expensive than the Nissan Sentra compact car, yet is still cheaper than the Maxima and boasts less of an upscale interior. It competes with cars like the Honda Accord, Mazda6, Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion, and Hyundai Sonata. History The Altima first rolled off the production line as a 1993 model on June 15, 1992. In the US it was released to replace the much-criticized Stanza, while in the Middle East it was an alternative to the Teana - built on the same platform. From 1992-2004 all Altimas were produced in Smyrna, Tennessee, until an additional factory was built in Canton, Mississippi to meet high demand. Third generation (2002-2006) The third generation Altima, L31, released in 2002, quickly gained popularity due to its impressive design, power, and style, becoming the North American alternative to the Japanese Nissan Teana. It is fitted with one of two engines - a 2.5L DOHC straight-4 power of 175hp (130kW), or a 3.5L DOHC V6 power of 250hp (186kW). The SE-R model was introduced in 2005, offering a more sporty experience with a power of 260hp (194kW). In 2002, the Altima was named North American Car of the Year Award.
