Nissan Altima Hybrid

The 2007 Nissan Altima Hybrid is the company's first foray into the hybrid gasoline/electric crossover market. This model will make its North American debut at the 2007 Model Orange County Auto Show, which is taking place in Anaheim, California, from October 4 to 8, 2006. The Altima Hybrid features all the bells and whistles of the next-generation 2007 Altima, as well as the extra benefits of increased fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. Specializing in a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder motor and electronic Continuously Variable Transmission (eCVT) matched with an electric motor and generator, the powertrain is rated at a net power of 198 horsepower (148 kW), and estimated fuel economy of 41 mpg City/36 mpg Highway. Classified as an Advanced Technology-Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (AT-PZEV), it will be sold in eight states beginning in early 2007. These locations—California, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, Rhode Island, Maine, and New Jersey—are among the leading sellers of hybrid vehicles. The 2007 Altima Hybrid model will launch shortly after the November introduction of the gasoline-powered 2007 Altima 2.5-liter 4-cylinder and 3.5-liter V6.
