The Nissan GT-R GT500 race car, designed to compete in the 2008 SUPER GT series, is set to make its public debut at two of Japan's biggest automotive events – the "Tokyo Auto Salon with NAPAC" taking place on the 11th-13th of January at Makuhari Messe and the "Osaka Auto Messe 2008" from the 9th-11th February at Intecks Osaka.
At these events, Nissan will parade the new works livery for the GT500 car, which is the result of Nissan's designers and their motorsports affiliate, NISMO, working in tandem with members of the fan group "Club NISMO". This livery pays homage to the current Fairlady Z race car, with a wide "brush stroke" design motif in bold red and black, representing the passion for racing and the high-performance of the GT-R.
The full technical detail of the Nissan GT-R GT500, as well as the range of the brand's global motorsports activities for the 2008 season will be unveiled on 31st January.
