Nissan GT-R GT500 Race car

The new Nissan GT-R GT500 race car, which will be competing in the 2008 SUPER GT series, is set to make its debut at two of the biggest custom car shows in Japan: the "Tokyo Auto Salon with NAPAC" (January 11-13 at Makuhari Messe), and the "Osaka Auto Messe 2008" (February 9-11 at Intecks Osaka). At these events, Nissan will be revealing the GT-R's new works livery, made in collaboration between Nissan's design team and NISMO, its motorsports affiliate company. This design – featuring a wide “brush stroke” design motif from the current Fairlady Z race car – translates the passion of racing through red accents, and communicates the car’s high performance in black. The design also takes into account feedback from members of the "Club NISMO" fan club. Based on the Nissan GT-R road car, the new machine is built on the concept of a multi-performance super car that will be able to stand up to the demanding SUPER GT Championship. On 31 January, Nissan will be announcing more details on the livery and the GT500 specifications, as well as its global motorsports activities for the newly-started season.
