Nissan Patrol 2005 posters

Nissan Patrol

The iconic Nissan Patrol has been manufactured by Nissan in Japan since 1950. It's available worldwide, with two door (Short Wheel Base or SWB), four door wagon (LWB, Long Wheel Base) and Utility/Cab Chassis Variants. While the old Y60 (GQ) platform is still in use in certain regions for military purposes, the modern version of the Nissan Patrol remains in production. It's an attractive choice for off-roaders looking for power, durability, and 4x4 capability. The Patrol has enjoyed success in its domestic market of Japan, where it's known as the Safari. It gained some traction in Australia in the 1960s, when it became the first vehicle to drive across the Simpson Desert. The Australian version was designated as the G60 Patrol. In 1994, Ford rebadged the Australian version, the Y60 (GQ) Patrol, as the Maverick. It has also been the go-to car for 4x4 adventure seekers in the "Winch Challenge," thanks to its strength, modification potential, and lightness. Although there have been rumors of Nissan releasing the Patrol as an Infiniti model, those rumors are false. The Infiniti brand instead releases a full-sized SUV, the QX56, which is based on the Nissan Armada.
