The Nissan Tiida is a subcompact car that made its debut in September 2004, replacing both the Pulsar and the Sunny models in its home market. The Tiida is based on the Nissan B platform and the wheelbase has been extendend, and it was previewed with the Nissan C-Note show car a year prior to its launch. It is characterized by its tall body and comes in the form of a five-door hatchback and a four-door sedan known as the Tiida Latio. In North America, it is sold under the name Versa and uses a DOHC 1.8 L gasoline engine which is assembled at Nissan's Aguascalientes plant in Mexico.
