Opel Astra High Performance Concept

Opel introduced the OPC (OPel Performance Centre) version of the Astra GTC (marketed as the Astra VXR in the UK) in 2005. This vehicle was equipped with an improved version of the 2.0 L turbo Family II engine labelled as the Z20 LEH, capable of generating 240 PS (177 kW, 237 bhp) of power and 320 N·m (236 lb·ft) of torque. In addition, it featured standard accessories such as a sports bodykit, Recaro interior, 6-speed manual gearbox, xenon headlamps and 18-inch alloy wheels. From 2005 until late 2009, the vehicle was also marketed in Australia and New Zealand by Holden Special Vehicles known as the HSV VXR. Perhaps the most remarkable difference between the HSV VXR and the UK Vauxhall model was the absence of a rear badge boot. Apart from a full leather trim, climate control, 6 disc CD and 19-inch alloy wheels, the HSV VXR featured an Opel Blitz logo on the steering wheel and its own distinctive OPC dashboard. The Astra OPC was also sold as the Chevrolet Astra OPC in Chile.
