Opel Corsa GSi

The new Opel Corsa GSi features a 'more substance than show' approach in comparison to the more high-performance Opel Corsa OPC, debuting at the Barcelona Motor Show (June 7 - 17, 2007). The powerful 1.6 ECOTEC turbo engine puts out 110 kW/150 hp at 5000 rpm, making it an ideal fit between the Corsa Sport 1.7 CDTI (125 hp) and the more powerful Corsa OPC (192 hp). "By introducing the GSi, we're excited to bring a performance model to the Corsa line with its signature fun, great value and everyday usability," states Alain Visser, Executive Director European Marketing Opel. With a top speed of 210 km/h and an acceleration of 0-100 km/h in 8.1 seconds, customers can get the GSi with three-doors or five-doors and make use of the electric power steering (EPS) and lowered sport chassis (front: 18 mm, rear: 15 mm) with ESP as standard. The exterior of the Corsa GSi is stylish and sporty, with exterior modifications such as a front spoiler lip, rear apron lip and spoiler, color-keyed side sills, chrome sport tailpipe and 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the look is just as dynamically with comfortable charcoal/red upholstered sport seats with high side support, leather steering wheel with red inserts, red safety belts and aluminum-style pedals. Since its launch in October 2006, the fourth generation Corsa has seen over 320.000 sold across Europe. The addition of the GSi to the Corsa model line expands the range to five gasoline and three diesel models with a performance range of 60 to 192 hp.
