Opel Kadett Roadster 1938 posters

Opel Kadett Roadster

For more than a century, Opel have been one of the leading automotive brands. Recent discoveries show that the firm had attempted to produce a two-seater convertible named the Opel Kadett Two-Seat "Strolch" back in 1938, based on the Opel Kadett from the 1930s. Despite the car having been developed to offer customers an exciting product, it never saw the light of production due to material shortages. Evidence of a brochure exists, detailing the car's 1.1 liter displacement, 23 hp engine and maximum speed of 98 km/h. Given the history of the car, the Opel classic car experts came up with an idea to recreate the Strolch seventy years after it was first developed. An original 1938 Opel Kadett will be used as the basis for the project, and the team will need to recreate aspects such as the aerodynamic rear and fabric roof. Analysis of the original black and white photos of the car revealed its colour to be bright red. This project is an exciting opportunity to demonstrate the passion and imagination of the Opel engineers many decades ago.
