Opel Vectra OPC
Opel is introducing two high-performance vehicles – the five-door hatchback and wagon versions of the Vectra OPC – which are among the most powerful front-wheel drive cars. Making their debut at the Frankfurt International Motor Show (IAA), the Vectra OPCs will launch on November 25th, 2005 and are powered by a newly developed 2.8-liter V6 engine with twin-scroll turbocharging and variable valve timing. This provides a maximum output of 188 kW/255 hp and a maximum torque of 355 Nm, making the model more than capable of competing with sports cars, with the hatchback reaching a top speed of 260 km/h and the wagon of 254 km/h from zero to 100 km/h in 6.7 and 6.9 seconds, respectively.
At both the hatchback and the station wagon, the exterior is designed to combine the style of the recently re-designed model range and the distinct OPC design language, resulting in an emotionally-charged, dynamic appearance. The exterior features a deep front spoiler, fog lamps in spot-light design, large 18-inch light alloy wheels in an OPC six-spoke design, and more accentuated door sills. The rear bumpers have a diffuser-like design and twin exhaust systems with trapezoidal tail pipes, while the paintwork offers a choice of Arden blue, star silver, sapphire black or magma red. In addition, the Vectra OPCs will come with the IDSPlus²: Second-generation adaptive chassis control system.
