Opel Vectra Caravan OPC
Opel's high-performance version of the Vectra five-door hatchback and Vectra station wagon combine the styling of the newly re-designed model range with the sporty OPC design language. Both models are driven by a newly-developed 2.8-liter V6 engine, featuring twin-scroll turbocharging and variable valve timing. This engine produces a maximum output of 188 kW/255 hp and a maximum torque of 355 Nm - making it one of the most powerful front-wheel drive cars - and enough driving performance to rival a sports car. The hatchback and the station wagon can both accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 6.7 and 6.9 seconds, respectively, with their top speeds being 260 km/h and 254 km/h.
The models feature distinct design features like a deep front spoiler, fog lamps in spot-light design, and prominent bumpers with diffuser-like outlines and discrete spoilers. Large-sized 18-inch light alloy wheels with 235/40 R18 Y tires complement the look. Colours available include Arden blue, star silver, sapphire black, and magma red. The newly-developed IDSPlus² (second-generation adaptive chassis control system) come standard as well. The launch date for the Opel Vectra Caravan OPC in Germany is November 25, 2005.
