Pagani Automobili created the Pagani Zonda Tricolore to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Frecce Tricolori, Italy's National Aerobatic Team. On 11th and 12th September 2010 they celebrated this date at Rivolto Airport. The Frecce Tricolori is an aerobatic team sponsored by the Italian Air Force, based at Rivolto Air Force Base. Formed in 1961, they previously performed under various different commands. They fly the Aermacchi MB-339-A/PAN, with nine aircraft and a solo, making theirs the largest aerobatic team in the world. The Pagani Zonda Tricolore's technical specifications are as follows: Mercedes Benz AMG engine with 670 hp and 780 Nm of torque; carbon-titanium monocoque; ECU, traction control and ABS from Bosch Engineering; Inconel/titanium exhaust system coated with ceramic; magnesium and titanium suspension; Cima sequential gearbox (6 speed) robotized by Automac Engineering; APP monolitic wheels forged in aluminium and magnesium (front 9x19, rear 12,5x20) alongside Pirelli PZero tyres (front 255/35/19, rear 335/30/20); Brembo brakes in carbo-ceramic with hydraulic servo brake (front 380x34 mm, monolitic 6 piston caliper; rear 380x34 mm, monolitic 4 piston caliper). It also has a dry weight of 1.210 kg, and weight distribution in driving condition of 47% front, 53% rear. It reaches 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.4 s, 0-200 km/h in 9.6 s, 100-0 km/h braking in 2.1 s, 200-0 km/h braking in 4.3 s, and its maximum side acceleration is 1.45 G (with road tyres). The Pagani Zonda Tricolore also boasts a downforce at 300 kph of 750 kg.
