Peugeot 206 SW HDi

The Peugeot 206 SW HDi is a station wagon version of the French manufacturer Peugeot's 1998-2010 supermini offering. It was launched in September 2001 as part of the 206's family, consisting of a hatchback, coupe cabriolet (the 206 CC) and sedan (the 206 SD) releases. The facelifted version of the 206 SW came out in 2008 initially in South America, then China, and eventually Europe, in hatchback, sedan and station wagon body styles. The classic Peugeot 206 SW HDi features a distinct front and rear styling resembling the Peugeot 207, and in China, it is also sold under the 207 nameplate as well as the Citroën C2. The project The Peugeot 205's replacement, the 206, was born out of a failed strategy during the early 1990s. Peugeot had figured that the lower end of the 205 range would be taken up by the newly released Peugeot 106, and the top-end 205s would be replaced by the Peugeot 306 and 309. Unfortunately, sales for the smaller Peugeot car continued to fall, and the 205 was officially phased out. Now, Peugeot needed to launch a bigger, better, and more marketable supermini car that could compete with rivals like the Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Polo. The 206 was eventually rolled out and launched in 1998 as a response to the faltering sales of the 205.
