Pininfarina Nido EV 2010 posters

Pininfarina Nido EV

To commemorate its 80th anniversary, Pininfarina revealed the Pininfarina Nido EV - the first running prototype of the "Nido Development Programme", a project for an electric car developed, designed, and assembled by the Pininfarina Style and Engineering Centre of Cambiano (Turin). This milestone of Pininfarina's is proof of their remarkable knowledge and expertise in crafting electric vehicles, with a special emphasis on Segment A city cars which are set to populate the roads of the future. Pininfarina's pioneering decision three years ago to shift focus to sustainable mobility from numerous perspectives - like hybrid and electric drivelines, reducing throttle and "wheel to wheel" emissions, using light and recyclable materials, and fusing active and passive safety systems with intelligent traffic management - has culminated in the Pininfarina Nido EV. The exterior of the Pininfarina Nido EV fuses and modernizes the lines and volumes of the same model that brought the 2004 Nido the Most Beautiful Car in the World award in the Prototypes and Concept Cars category, as well as the Compasso d'Oro 2008 and placement in the MoMA of New York. Meanwhile, the interior of this first Pininfarina Nido EV project remains that of a technical prototype, as there have been no stylistic OrcrewOrchestrations.
