Pininfarina Rolls-Royce Hyperion

Pininfarina created the unique Hyperion car based on a Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe, and it made its World Debut at the Concours d'Elegance at Pebble Beach. It was named after Hyperion, one of the Titans of Greek mythology, highlighting its powerful architecture and figurative symbolism. Andrea Pininfarina, Chairman and CEO of Pininfarina SpA, commented, "It isn't the first time our Special Projects Division has designed a custom-made car from a model of theirs, such as the Pininfarina Ferrari P4/5 of collector Jim Glickenhaus, or Peter Kalikow's Scaglietti 'K'. For the Pininfarina Rolls-Royce Hyperion, the owner, Roland Hall, asked us to craft a car that paid homage to the luxurious automobiles of the 1930s. Today, many desire to return to the concept of an automobile as an artistic expression, just as it was during the 1950s." The personnel at Pininfarina talked with the Rolls-Royce brand values and echoed the 1951 Silver Dawn and 1975 Camargue in their design of the Pininfarina Rolls-Royce Hyperion, with dimensions seldom seen in 21st century models. To quote Andrea Pininfarina once more, "Our team of designers and engineers applied their creative skills and Pininfarina expertise without limits, coming extremely close to Roland Hall's vision of the car."
