Pontiac Aztek Rally 2004 posters

Pontiac Aztek Rally

The Pontiac Aztek was introduced in 2001 to the mid-size crossover SUV market. It was produced through the 2005 model year and was General Motors' marque Pontiac's entry into the crossover segment. Although its design has been praised by some, many have met it with criticism due to its polarizing exterior styling. Background As many SUV buyers were satisfied with their vehicles due to the cargo carrying capacity, seating height, and the suggestion of an active outdoor lifestyle, other drivers had to deal with the poor gas mileage, uncomfortable ride, and high step-in height associated with traditional SUVs. This gave birth to the car-based "crossover" SUV, which proved popular with popular models like the Lexus RX300 and Toyota Highlander. Original Concept Pontiac's 1999 Aztek concept car, which featured "Xtreme" futuristic styling, was met with positive reviews. Furthermore, it was marketed to Generation 'X' buyers and boasted the tagline: "Quite possibly the most versatile vehicle on the planet." in conjunction with CBS's hit game show, Survivor in 2001.
