Pontiac G6 Coupe
Pontiac is ushering in the new year with a stylish refresh of its popular G6 mid-size vehicle line. Exterior styling has been given a more aggressive look, and a new interior instrument panel highlights the 2009.5 model, which will reach dealerships in January.
“The G6 has been a cornerstone vehicle for Pontiac since it launched in 2004 and is still Pontiac's top seller,” said Susan Docherty, Vice President of Buick-Pontiac-GMC. “This new update brings together a combination of sporty style, handling, and value, without compromising fuel efficiency.”
The interior of all G6 models—sedans, coupes, and convertibles—have received the upgrade, while the G6 GXP models' styling remains unchanged. The G6 coupe is now offering a new powertrain with a 164-horsepower 2.4L four-cylinder Ecotec engine that is linked to a six-speed automatic transmission with a TAPshift manual shift system and paddle controls. This powertrain helps to achieve an impressive 33 miles-per-gallon fuel efficiency.
The 3.5L V6 is still standard in all the body styles but in areas where E85 ethanol-based fuel is available, a FlexFuel version is can be had free-of-charge. The V6 option can produce up to 219 horsepower.
