Pontiac G8 GT 2008 posters

Pontiac G8 GT Show Car Pontiac has unveiled a show car model of its all-new 2008 G8 performance sedan at the Chicago Auto Show. The car has a rear-wheel-drive architecture developed by Holden, GM's Australian subsidiary. On the production model, buyers will have the option of a 362-horsepower (270 kW) 6.0L V-8 engine and a six-speed manual transmission. John Larson, Pontiac General Manager, said, "With the balance of rear-wheel drive and the availability of V-8 power, the G8 represents another step in Pontiac's commitment to its performance DNA." He does expect the G8 to be competitive in its segment against cars that cost much more. The G8 show car also has some unique features, such as 20-inch "shadow chrome" wheels and performance tires, a lower ride height of approximately half-inch, high-performance brake rotors, and a custom interior trim with leather-wrapped dash. The show car also features an exclusive Phantom Grey exterior paint color and a concept of a "modernized" Pontiac badge to gauge public opinion. The G8 will be available in dealerships early next year.
