Pontiac GTO 2004 posters

Pontiac GTO 5.7

In 2004, the Pontiac GTO made its return to United States consumers. Based on the Australian-built Holden Monaro, the “Old Goat” wasn't quite as much of a hit as had been anticipated due to its bland styling. Despite this, the GTO was powered by the Chevrolet Corvette's LS1 V8 engine and offered a 6-speed manual transmission and 4-speed automatic, with production limited to 12,000 vehicles a year. A Pulse Red package was made available that included exclusive embroidery on the seats -- only 800 of these were made.

2005

For the 2005 model year, the GTO received performance and appearance upgrades -- moving it into an ultra high performance category. Included in these upgrades were a new hood scoop, Pulse Red paint and more.
