Pontiac Montana SV6 2006 posters

Pontiac Montana SV6

The Pontiac Montana is a minivan that replaced the Pontiac Trans Sport in 1999. It was similar to the Buick GL8, Chevrolet Venture, Oldsmobile Silhouette, and the Opel Sintra. This generation came in both short and long-wheelbase models, and had the capacity to accommodate up to eight passengers.

2005

For 2005, the Montana was given an updated design resembling an SUV and was renamed the SV6. This model featured a 3.5 L High Value 3500 LX9 V6 engine that produced 200 hp and 220 ft·lbf of torque. The SV6 was powered by the most expensive of its cousins and was produced at GM's Doraville, Georgia assembly plant, before it closed in 2008. Despite its popularity in Canada, GM discontinued the SV6 in 2006 due to low sales and it not fitting into Pontiac's performance image.
