Pontiac Sunfire HO 2001 posters

Pontiac Sunfire HO

The Pontiac Sunfire was a compact car that was introduced in 1995 to replace the Sunbird. It featured an all-new design, shared with the Chevrolet Cavalier, and its J platform was updated to meet modern safety standards. The Sunfire came in three body styles: a sedan, coupe, and convertible. The SE trim level was the standard, while the GT trim level was offered for the coupe and convertible, with 16-inch alloy wheels, a dual exhaust, and a new front fascia. The SE came with the 2.2 litre OHV engine, while the GT offered the 2.3 litre Quad 4 or 2.4 litre LD9 DOHC engines. There were two facelifts, one in 2000 and one in 2003, for the 11-year run of the Sunfire. In 2002, the SE and GT trims were dropped and the 2.2 litre OHV and 2.4 litre DOHC engines were replaced by the 2.2 litre Ecotec engine. This sole engine option remained until the production of the Sunfire ceased in June 2005. Engines

The base model came with the 2.2 litre engine from 1995 to 2002. The GT trim level was offered with the 2.3 litre Quad 4 or the 2.4 litre LD9 DOHC engine as an option. In 2003, the two engines were replaced with the 2.2 litre Ecotec option, which was available for the 2002 model year as well.
