The 2006 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet and Carrera S Cabriolet models feature several new features and options. These include two-tone interiors; an electronic logbook to record mileage, journey length, date and time; an extended navigation system that allows drivers to retrace their route even if the road is not on the map; a tire-pressure monitoring system; and 19-inch Carrera Sport Wheels. The Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system now plays MP3 encoded CDs through the CD unit.
For an even more powerful version, the Carrera S Cabriolet also has the option of the X51 Power Kit. This kit includes revised cylinder heads, a carbon-fiber air cleaner, an aluminum air intake system, a reprogrammed engine control unit, and revised exhaust manifolds with a sport exhaust and specially tuned tailpipes. This boosts the horsepower rating from 355 (SAE) to 381 (SAE). Additionally, the acceleration from 0 to 60 miles per hour (96 km/h) is cut to 4.5 seconds with a manual transmission and to 4.9 seconds with Tiptronic® S.
