Porsche 911 GT3 RS

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is a homologation model specifically built to compete in motor sport events in accordance with the new international GT rules. Porsche has created at least 200 vehicles of this type to deliver to customers, causing excitement among Porsche fans and auto racing aficionados. Models such as the Carrera RS 2.7 of 1972, and the 911 SC RS (1984) were also built for a similar purpose, and all three mark prominent chapters in Porsche's legacy. The latest model, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, is designed to continue this tradition. The emphasis was placed on attaining the optimum power-to-weight ratio while building the "RS", leading to a figure of 4.86 kg/kW - better by 4 percent than the Club Sport version of the GT3. The new model is 50kg lighter, with a total weight of 1,360kg when the tank (90 liters) is full. Like its predecessors, the "RS" is equipped with a complete roll-over cage, and comes in white with blue or red insignias - reminiscent of its hallowed forebears. Technical features on the road version of this powerful sports car, including complete wheel hub assemblies, divided front and rear lateral suspension control arms, optimized rear-axle geometry, a special weight-saving rear window made of polycarbonate material and a carbon-fiber reinforced front hood and rear wing, will also appear in the racing version. The engine, a 3.6-liter capacity, produces a total of 280 kW (381 bhp) at 7,300 revolutions per minute, with a maximum engine speed of 8,200rpm and a specific output of 105.8bhp/liter - values which also apply to the current GT3 model. An air collector located beneath the rear wing supplies extra intake air to the engine at high speeds, allowing the "RS" to reach a maximum output even more easily. As evidenced by its performance profile, the vehicle can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, blazing onwards to 200km/h after only 14 seconds. Its top speed is 306km/h. The output power from the engine is sent to a close-ratio six-speed gearbox via a lighter single-mass flywheel, compared to what the double-mass version uses. The price of this extraordinary experience stands at 104,000 Euros (plus specific national-market charges) - 120,788 Euros in Germany including VAT. Unfortunately, the GT3 RS is unavailable in the USA and Canada.
