Porsche 911 GT3 Cup
The latest edition of the best-selling racing car of all time, the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, is making its debut in the 2011 Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship. Built in a production series of more than 1,400 units since 1998, this race car is based on the 911 GT3 RS road car, reducing its weight significantly. The wider body on the rear provides increased space for larger wheels and tyres compared to the previous iteration, which was based on the 911 GT3. The 3.8-litre six-cylinder horizontally-opposed power unit of the GT3 Cup generates 450 hp, an increase of 30 hp over the prior model, offering increased dynamic performance. It is coupled to a sequential six-speed manual gearbox and limited slip differential.
