Porsche 911 Speedster
Very sporty and extremely rare: Porsche is rolling out a limited series of the new Porsche 911 Speedster. Inspired by the first-ever Porsche vehicle to bear the Speedster nameplate, the 356 Speedster which arrived in 1954, only 356 of the two-seater cars have been manufactured.
The sports car stands out with its short 60 millimetres windscreen, flat contour of the manual convertible top, and the double bubble on the convertible top compartment lid which amplifies its wider 44 millimetres body at the rear end. It further features a distinctive front apron, darkened front lamps, black headlight enclosures, side skirts, and the rear apron with "Speedster" lettering. Whether open or closed, the car flaunts the perfect Speedster lines.
Also, the 911 Speedster pays attention to weight saving with aluminium doors, no rear seat system, and the standard ceramic brake system (PCCB). Plus, the convertible top compartment lid is made of aluminium yet weighs less than the significantly smaller one from the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet. As a result, the Porsche 911 Speedster weighs as much as the Carrera S at 1,540 kilograms, despite its extra equipment. In combination with the improved engine performance, it offers a power-to-weight ratio of 3.8 kg/hp.
