Porsche 911 Targa
The all-new Porsche 911 Targa features a larger, 3.6-liter, 320-horsepower engine shared with the 911 Carrera models, making it the most powerful normally aspirated 911 model ever offered in North America. This model has 911 Turbo-inspired front-end styling, interior enhancements, and a unique look with sharply tapered rear side glass. Its drag coefficient is the same as the 911 Carrera Coupe - 0.30.
Unique Sliding Glass Roof
The 2002 911 Targa is significantly different from its predecessor, boasting a larger power-operated sliding glass roof that slides underneath the rear window and is joined by a hinged rear window for easier access to the luggage compartment. With the rear seatbacks down, it provides 8.1 cubic feet (230 liters) of cargo space, compared to 7.1 cubic feet (201 liters) in the 911 Carrera Coupe. The 2002 Porsche 911 Targa offers an unbeatable view of the sky through more than 16 square feet (1.5 square meters) of glass, activated by electric motors that open the roof by nearly 20 inches, (0.5-meter), providing an opening of nearly 700 square inches (0.45 square meters). The roof is made of pre-tensioned, laminated safety glass for added safety.
