Porsche 911 Targa

In 1963, Porsche revealed the six-cylinder model, known as a 901, at the Frankfurt Automobile Salon. This model would eventually become the 1964 Porsche 911 Carrera, which replaced its predecessor, the Porsche 356. 'The essence of Porsche' was quickly recognized as the 911 gained traction in North America in the 1965 model year. Since then, the Porsche 911 Carrera has set the standard for performance and luxury among sports cars. For 2004, Porsche has kept true to their roots by offering the 911 Carrera in Coupe, Cabriolet, and Targa body styles. Each version is driven by a 3.6-liter, 315-horsepower (SAE) horizontally opposed Boxer engine. To commemorate the 911's 40th anniversary, Porsche has released a special edition 40th Anniversary model based on the current rear-wheel drive Porsche 911 Carrera. Enhanced handling, a more powerful engine, and unique interior and exterior features set this model apart from the rest.
