Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet
Building upon the renowned success of the Porsche 911 Turbo, the engineers at Porsche have designed the new Porsche 911 Turbo S to meet customer demand for even greater power, performance and driving dynamics. The Turbo S is equipped with a more powerful six-cylinder 'boxer' engine that features two turbochargers with variable turbine geometry. This results in an improved horsepower of 30 hp over the Porsche 911 Turbo, maxing out at 530 hp (390 kW) and a monumental 700 Newton-metres (516 lb-ft) of torque. Furthermore, this power upgrade does not come at the expense of fuel efficiency; despite its considerable boost in power and dynamic performance, the new Turbo S returns the same fuel economy of 24.8 mpg (11.4 l/ 100 km) as its lower-powered counterpart.
To enhance the driving experience, the Turbo S is packed with the latest high-tech features, including Porsche's newest performance-increasing technologies. As standard, the Turbo S is equipped with the seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) double-clutch gearbox and steering wheel-mounted paddle-shift levers. For an even more enhanced driving experience and improved safety, Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive, Dynamic Engine Mounts, Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) and a mechanical limited-slip rear differential are fitted as standard. The standard Sport Chrono Package Turbo with Launch Control guarantees instant acceleration from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 196 mph (315 km/h), while the included Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) guarantee outstanding fade-resistant stopping power.
In addition to its impressive performance and technologically advanced features, the Turbo S features exclusive standard equipment, such as Dynamic Cornering Lights, 19-inch RS Spyder design wheels, adaptive sports seats, cruise control, CD/DVD player and two-tone leather upholstery in Black/Creme or Black/Titanium Blue. The Turbo S mechanisms are also protected by a Porsche VTS vehicle security package, which meets Thatcham category 5 standards. These characteristic combine to give the Turbo S an incredible driving experience and an outstanding level of class.
The Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet is now available to purchase from May 2010, ranging in price from £130,791. Customers will also have access to Porsche Experience Programmes at the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone, to better understand and develop their driving skills.
