Porsche 968 Cabriolet

The Porsche 968 is a sports car sold by Porsche AG from 1992 to 1995 that took over the entry-level position in the company's lineup from the 944. It was the final iteration of an evolving line starting with the 924 over 20 years earlier and ending with the Turbo S, Turbo RS, and Turbo RS Lemans. During its development, 80% of the 944S2's mechanical components were either significantly modified or replaced in the 968, which Porsche chose to introduce as a new model. The powertrain of the 968 featured a 3.0 L engine capable of producing 240 PS, a six-speed manual transmission, Porsche's VarioCam variable valve timing system, an updated induction and exhaust system, and an improved dual-mass flywheel. In terms of styling, the 968 sported a modern and streamlined design inside and out with more refined features than the outgoing 944, characterized by its swooping headlamp design as a nod to the 959. A Fuba roof-mounted antenna, 16" alloy wheels, single lens tail lamps, greater selection of interior and exterior colorways, and updated "B" pillar and rear quarter window were among the many detail upgrades. The Porsche 968 was sold as both a coupe and a convertible and shared some components with the 944 Turbo, including the Brembo-sourced 4-piston brake calipers, semi-trailing arms, and front A-arms.
