Porsche Boxster RS 60 Spyder

The Porsche Boxster RS 60 Spyder was presented at the 2007 Bologna Motor Show in Italy as an exciting new version of the mid-engined Porsche Boxster roadster. Styling, features, and design mirrored the motorsport era of the 1960s when Porsche sports cars experienced great success. This is fitting since, in 1960, the Porsche Type 718 RS 60 Spyder achieved its first overall victory in the 12 Hours of Sebring. The Boxster RS 60 Spyder is based on the Boxster S model, yet offers significant performance features that make it stand out. Key exterior elements of the RS 60 Spyder include a unique front spoiler, 19-inch diameter Porsche Sport Design alloy wheels, and dual tailpipes that increase engine output to 303 bhp. Inside, stainless steel door trim strips proudly display the model designation, while leather upholstery trim boasts a textured surface for a more sporty ambiance. To complete the look, the faces of the instrument dials are finished in GT Silver Metallic and have no hood over the instrument cluster. Additional features include windscreen surround, seat backrests, and roll hoops in GT Silver Metallic, as well as Carrera Red natural leather interior with a matching Red roof. Beauty and brains – Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) adds further dynamism to the Boxster chassis for a truly exhilarating driving experience. To make it extra special, the Porsche Boxster RS 60 Spyder will be limited to 1,960 examples, each complete with a silver plaque on the lid of the glove compartment and a price tag of £45,400 including VAT. Deliveries in the UK and Ireland are expected to begin in March 2008.
