Proton GEN-2 Persona
The latest addition to the Proton Cars (UK) line-up is the Proton GEN-2 Persona, a four door saloon version of the popular five door hatchback. It's powered by a 1.6 litre Lotus engineered Campro engine which gives an impressive output of 110bhp, 148Nm of torque and a top speed of 118mph. Proton offers either a five-speed manual gearbox or a four-speed automatic, both delivering excellent ride and handling thanks to Lotus engineering influence.
The front and rear design of the GEN-2 Persona is unmistakably Lotus-inspired, with strong lines and neat design touches. The tempest grey interior has plenty of space for drivers and passengers, with the rear seats featuring a handy flat-folding mechanism. Inside, drivers can control the climate thanks to pollen filter-equipped climate control, and the integrated Blaupunkt radio/CD player can play MP3s through four-way speakers.
Safety is integral to the Proton GEN-2 Persona experience, with Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brake Distribution, driver and passenger airbags, side impact protection bars, power assisted steering and reverse distance sensors all included as standard.
