Renault 11 Turbo

The Renault 9 and Renault 11 are small family cars produced by the French manufacturer Renault for model years 1981-1988. Both models come in saloon (Renault 9) and hatchback (Renault 11) configurations, and were styled by French automobile designer, Robert Opron. Variants of the cars were also manufactured by American Motors Corporation (AMC) and sold in North America and Colombia from 1983-1999, while production of the car extended to Turkey until 2000. The cars are equipped with transverse front-wheel drive engine set-ups, as well as four-wheel independent suspensions. In recognition of their advanced features, they were awarded the accolade of European Car of the Year for 1982, as well as Motor Trend Car of the Year by Motor Trend and Car and Driver 10Best from Car and Driver (C/D) for 1983. Throughout its production run, there were three facelifts implemented on both the Renault 9 and Renault 11. Interestingly, the Renault 11 variant released in 1983 was only available in Phase 2, 3, and 4. Phase 1, on the other hand, is the original Renault 9 that was released in 1981. The Phase 2 appeared in 1983, while Phase 3 was more aerodynamic and released in 1987. Lastly, the Phase 4 was found in Turkey starting in 1997. This final version featured more rounded head and tail lights, as well as ovoid body cladding and "Broadway" badge - reminiscent of earlier phase models.
