The Renault 5 GT Turbo was a performance version of the first generation of Renault 5. It was launched in 1985 and featured a turbocharged engine, stiffened suspension and some external modifications, including larger and wider wheels and tires. It was produced until 1991, when it was replaced by the redesigned second generation R5 Turbo.
