At the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, Renault revealed its new brand identity, placing people at the centre of its ethos. This has resulted in an ambitious design strategy, with each phase taking the form of a specific concept car - the first of which being the two-seater DeZir coupé. Representing 'falling in love', the passion that accompanies any new adventure, Renault Captur Concept is the second concept to take the stage. Renault Captur Concept expresses the same simple, sensuous and warm style as DeZir. According to director of design, Laurens Van den Acker, the concept is a "fun and sporty crossover, ideal for a young couple about to discover the world”. Featuring fluid curves and powerful all-terrain cues, Renault Captur Concept evokes movement and lightness. Finding its inspiration in athletes and radical sports, designer Julio Lozano envisioned it as a sprinter on the starting blocks, packed with energy and ready for the off. Drawing from elements such as helmets and gloves used in extreme sports, this design blends high technology with a touch of sophistication and lightness.
