Renault Clio III 3door

An all-new version of the third-generation Clio was revealed in 2005. It utilizes a platform that was co-developed with the Renault-owned Nissan, which is the same one being shared with the Renault Modus and Nissan Micra. The Clio III is noticeably bigger and 130 kg heavier, and also pricier than the Clio II, while Renault made the conscious decision to target the slightly more upscale crowd. The outgoing Clio II will still be available as a more affordable option up until the arrival of Renault's new Twingo (expected in 2007). The new Clio achieved an amazing 5-star EuroNCAP safety rating, making it part of Renault's lineup of top-rated consumer automobiles -- the only exception being the Kangoo, which has also earned the maximum safety rating. Sales of the 3-door variant started all over Europe in October 2005, with the 5-door version following suit early in 2006. In June 2006, the third-gen Renault Clio Sport hit the streets of France with a cost of 23000 euros. Each Clio Renault Sport is packaged with a 2-liter 16-valve engine that is based on the model used for the second-generation Clio Renault Sport, as well as a 6-speed manual transmission. The engine goes up to 145 kW (197 hp) at 7250 rpm, boasting an impressive top speed of 215 km/h and 0-100 km/h acceleration of only 6.9 seconds. At the 2006 Paris International Agricultural Show, Renault put on display a Hi-Flex Clio fueled by a 1.6-liter 16-valve engine. This special product made exclusively for the Brazilian market sports Renault's very own flex-fuel technology, enabling the engine to run on fuel containing any combination of gasoline and ethanol (anywhere from 0-100%).
