Renault Clio V6 Renault Sport

The Renault Clio is a supermini car that has been produced by the French automaker Renault since 1990. It has become one of Europe's top-selling cars since its launch due to its consistent quality and has restored the company's reputation. It has been sold as the Renault Lutecia in Japan, and as the Nissan Platina by Nissan in some Latin American markets. The second generation of the Renault Clio was launched in 1998, introducing a more rounded and bulbous look. Its components consisted of unusual materials to reduce weight and repair costs, such as plastic for the front fenders and aluminium for the hood in some versions. The engine lineup comprised of 1.2 L, 1.4 L and 1.6 L gasoline engines and a 1.9 L diesel. During early 1999, a sports version with a 1.6 L 16V engine was released, and all the other gas versions were upgraded to 16V. In 1999, the 172 hp Clio RS arrived, followed by the exotic mid-engined, rear-wheel drive Clio V6 Renault Sport, which had a 166 kW (230 hp) 3.0 L V6 engine sourced from the Renault Laguna and a top speed of 235 km/h (146 mph). A facelift in 2001 saw the exterior restyled, the interior quality improved and a 1.5 L direct-injection diesel engine added. The Clio was kept in production until 2008 as the Clio Campus with a smaller price tag than the Clio III. In 2006, the model underwent a facelift with a new front and rear design. The number plate was also moved from the boot (or trunk) to the bumper.
