Renault Grand Espace IV 3.0 dCi

The Renault Grand Espace IV 3.0 dCi is the fourth generation of the Espace model, a large MPV originally designed by Chrysler UK in collaboration with Matra of France. Seating seven passengers, this longer-wheelbase version offers plenty of room for passengers and cargo. It follows in the footsteps of the original minivan, the Renault Espace and the Dodge Caravan.

Espace I (1984-1991)

The Espace's design came from the minds of British designer Fergus Pollock, who worked for the UK Chrylser subsidiary Rootes group in Coventry, and Matra, the French subsidiary of Chrysler. The design was originally developed as a Talbot and intended to replace the Matra Rancho station wagon. In 1978, the Espace project moved to French company PSA Peugeot Citroën, although the design itself found a home with Matra. The Espace had its original design modified to include a fiber-glass body mounted on a warm-galvanized steel chassis, using the same method and line of production as the Talbot Matra Murena.
