Renault Laguna Estate 1.9 dCI

The Renault Laguna is a large family car produced by the French manufacturer Renault. It was first released in 1994 and replaced by a completely new model in 2000. First generation The original Laguna was available as a liftback and added an estate version, known as the Laguna Grandtour. Power options included a 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 petrol engine, as well as a 2.2 diesel motor. In 1995, a 3.0 V6 with automatic transmission was added. All Laguna models were fitted with power steering, electric front windows, driver's airbag, remote central locking, and often came with twin airbags, antilock brakes, air-conditioning and CD player as either standard or optional extras. In 1998, the Laguna received some minor visual adjustments, and its engine range was improved. The end of its run in 2000 saw the release of the Laguna Concorde, a special edition equiped with extras like semi-leather seats and voice warnings. Second generation The second generation of the Renault Laguna debuted at the end of 2000, with a chassis shared with the Nissan Primera. It was updated with new engines and extended equipment list as well as becoming the first vehicle available in Europe to receive a 5 star rating in the EuroNCAP crash test. The second generation of Laguna also featured 'keyless' ignition, where a credit card style device could unlock and start the engine. The design was strongly influenced by the Initiale concept car. Unfortunately, the Laguna II has been unable to escape its reputation as an unreliable car, often appearing near the bottom of the J.D. Power survey tables.
