The Renault Megane II was introduced in 2002, a departure from its predecessor in style. It was also packed with an array of innovative technologies such as the Renault Card keyless ignition system, a first in its class, and the option of a panoramic glass sunroof. For the sportier driver, RenaultSport offered the 3-door and 5-door hatchbacks equipped with a turbocharged petrol 2.0 L 16v engine producing 225 hp, and suspension and bumper modifications. The wide range of Megane models include the 3 and 5-door hatchbacks, a 4-door saloon/sedan, a five-door estate, and the unique retractable hardtop Coupe-Convertible with an innovative folding glass roof mechanism built by Karmann. The long-wheelbase Scénic model provides seven seats for extra versatility.
