Renault Megane II Hatch 2003 posters

Renault Megane II Sport Hatch

The Renault Megane II was launched in 2002 as a fresh start for the popular Mégane range and featured the new bold styling first seen in the Avantime. The success of the Mégane across Europe demonstrated that Renault had a winning formula with the new styling and the Mégane was awarded European Car Of The Year in 2003 and achieved a 5-star safety rating in the EuroNCAP crash tests; no other car in its class had achieved such ratings. The Mégane II featured innovative technologies such as the Renault Card keyless ignition system, as well as the optional panoramic glass sunroof. The RenaultSport (RS) 3-door and 5-door hatchbacks included a turbocharged petrol 2.0 L 16v engine producing 225 hp and enhanced suspension to improve handling. The range of Mégane II models was vast, including the 3 and 5 door hatchback (Sport Hatch and Hatch respectively), the 4-door saloon/sedan (Sport Saloon), the five-door estate (Sport Tourer / Grandtour), the retractable hardtop Mégane Coupe-Convertible and the short- and long-wheelbase Scénic models, the latter offering seven seats. The coupé-convertible was unique with its folding glass roof mechanism built by Karmann.
