Renault Racoon Concept 1993 posters

Renault Racoon Concept

The Renault Racoon was a concept car created by Renault first shown in 1992. Renowned for its unique styling that resembled theconcept car created by Volkswagen called the Concept T, the Racoon included a twin-turbocharged V6 engine and an all wheel-drive system. To enter the vehicle, the driver needed to open the front of the car. Another unique feature of the vehicle was its capability to be raised upwards for additional ground clearence, which was done through its constructed levered suspension. Furthermore, the Racoon had many radical features such as rain diffusing glass, remote controlled entry, computer control, satellite navigation and cameras instead of rear view mirrors. However, due to its 3.0 litre twin turbo V6 engine and the extra costs of making the unusual suspension set up, this car never made it to production. Not to forget, the car was aquatic-capable -although most manufacturers rejected this feature since the automobile didn't make for a good boat.
